Author of the book Major General (Retd) ATM Abdul Wahab was born in an aristocratic Muslim family of Bengal on December 29, 1946. He completed his early education from Sreepur MC Pilot High School and Kushtia Degree College. He graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Mechanical Engineering in 1967. He was commissioned in Pakistan Army in 1968. Captain Wahab joined the War of Liberation narrowly escaping death from Jessore Cantonment responding to the call of our great leader Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in his Historic March 7 Speech. He was Sub Sector Commander in Sector 8 and led troops in several battles risking his life. He ventured on special missions behind the enemy lines in Jessore, Jhenidah, Kushtia, and Faridpur having wireless communication with Barrackpur Cantonment, India.
